Died: Saturday, September 10th, 2016

Celebration of Judy's Life: 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at the funeral home

Visitation: family will receive friends two hours prior to service

Judith "Judy" Ann (Zimmerman) Schrantz, age 68, of Elk Mound passed away at her home surrounded by family on September 10, 2016 after a short, courageous battle with cancer.

Judy was born on October 26, 1947 to the late Clinton and Harriet (Anderson) Zimmerman in Eau Claire. She graduated from Memorial High School and continued her schooling to become a C.N.A. On October 26, 1968 she married Anthony Schrantz and they raised their daughters in Elk Mound. For 40 years, Judy worked at Sacred Heart Hospital before retiring.

She enjoyed many adventures in life: from camping trips, to travels to Europe, Canada, and Mexico, to her "girls" weekends with her friends from S.H.H., to sitting and playing board games with her grandchildren - her all time favorites being Rummy 500 and Yahtzee, those two games were only for the brave.

Judy's contagious smile and unconditional love will be greatly missed but treasured for a lifetime.

She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Anthony J. Schrantz; daughters, Nikki and Tiffany Schrantz; grandchildren, Drew (Samantha) Schrantz, Joel (Stephanie) Schrantz, Jordan (Audrey) Anibas, Devin (Dayne) Thompson, and Dominic Thompson; great grandchildren, Silas Michael Schrantz and Molly Ann Schrantz all of Elk Mound; brothers and sisters, Michael Jensen of Sedro-Wolley, WA, John (Linda) Zimmerman, Jean (Bobby) Allen both of Eau Claire, Jim (Donna) Zimmerman of Elk Mound, and Jan (Mike) Davis of Seattle, WA; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Melvin and Julia Anderson; beloved stepfather, Christy Christenson; uncle, Elroy "Andy" Anderson; sister, Kari Howard; nieces, Rhonda and Robin Thompson; nephew, Scott Harrison; and mother- and father-in-law, Tony and Doris Schrantz.

Our family would like to send special thanks to her second family - her co-workers at S.H.H. for all of their support during our difficult journey. Also a very special thank you to the nurses from Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice who provided exceptional care.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
