BLUEM, Mary Ann, age 80

Died: Monday, February 11th, 2013

Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday at and also ½ hour prior to Mass
Vigil Service: 7:00 at the funeral home on Friday

Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father George officiating

Interment: will be in the parish cemetery

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St Benedict's Monastery, St. Joseph, MN

 

Mary Ann Bluem, age 80, of Eau Claire passed away on Monday, February 11, 2013 at Pine View Nursing Home in Black River Falls.

Mary Ann was born on May 4, 1932 to the late Ernest and Marcella (Sherpy) Mai in Eau Claire. She graduated from St Patrick's High School in 1950. On February 14, 1953 she married Marcellus Z. Bluem at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eau Claire. Throughout her life she was very active in her church and Catholic community - helping the Sisters at St. Bede's Priory and an active member of the St. Ann's Society.

She is survived by her children, Stephen (Linda) Bluem of Eau Claire, Barbara (Kenneth Burke) Hawkins of Elk Grove Village IL, Gregory (Lorraine) Bluem of Taylor, Kathleen (Calvin) Thompson of Black River Falls, Patricia (Richard) Ahner of St Michael, MN, Monica Reinhardt of Pepin, David (Barbara) Bluem of Jackson, MN, and Denise (Doug Swedal) Briski of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Stephanie (Ahmad) Thabateh, Joshua (Erin Cassin) Hawkins, Eric Bluem, Jacquelyn (Jay Clark) Thompson, Lucas (Nicole Hanson) Thompson, Abigail Ahner, Madalyn Ahner, Clorice Reinhardt, Rachel Anderson, Miranda Anderson and Carissa Briski; great grandchildren, Georgia Hawkins, William Hawkins and Addalynn Anderson; sisters and brothers, Sister Monica Mai, Elaine Sheehan, Richard (Doris) Mai and Dennis (Kathy) Mai; special niece, Lori; many other nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Marcellus, who passed away on August 6, 2007.

Mary Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
