Ruth N. Johnson, age 98, of Chippewa Falls passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home.

Ruth was born on October 10, 1916 in Chippewa County to the late Joseph and Susan T. (Beaudoin) Brick. On February 1, 1935, she married Glenn Johnson in Eau Claire. They resided in Hallie and then moved to Eau Claire in 1947. She had been a resident of Chippewa Manor Retirement Community since 1996. Ruth worked as a cook at UW-EC and CVTC retiring in 1978. She loved playing cards and being with her family.

Mom and Dad enjoyed their time at the camper on Cornell Lake, where they had met at a dance at Prince's Resort. She was a marvelous cook and no one made better lefse, apple pie or potato dumplings.

She is survived by her children, Pat (Gary) Gunderson, Dick Johnson, Ken Johnson, Sally Pitts, and Nancy (Richard) Sparks; 22 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; sister, Katherine Hartman; sister-in-law, Jane Peterson; son-in-law, Cal Campbell; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Glen; son, Don; daughter, Judy Campbell; daughters- in-law, Barbara Johnson and Delores Johnson; son-in-law, Bob Pitts; great-grandson, Elliot Campbell; sisters, Eleanor Ratliff, Ethel Rathke, Agnes Rooney, and Suzanne Zweifelhofer; and brothers, Joe and Tom.

Ruth's family would like to thank the staff at Chippewa Manor for their care and Rev. Hoekstra for his pastoral care to mom and the family for many years.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
