Agnes B. Hanson, age 87, of Eau Claire passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Country Terrace in Altoona.

Agnes was born on May 3, 1927 to the late Peder and Ida (Garlie) Almberg in Eau Claire. On January 31, 1948, she married Donald O. Hanson at First Lutheran Church in Eau Claire. Her and Don were charter members of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd.

For over 50 years, she was an avid Bowler playing on many leagues at Wagner's, taking up "Wii" bowling in her later years. She volunteered for many special Olympic events, especially bowling. In her younger years, she loved to swim at Half Moon Lake and go dancing. She enjoyed spending summers at the lake cottage sitting on the dock with Donald and family. She looked forward to every Wednesday which was "shopping day" with her best gal, Geraldine. Going on gambling trips to Vegas and Turtle Lake were special times with family and friends. She was a wonderful wife, devoted mother, and beloved grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Carolyn) of Menomonie, William (Mary) of Eau Claire, and Richard (Deborah) of Lake Hallie; grandchildren, Jeffery, Kattie Jo, Elizabeth, Abigayl; step-grandchildren, Shannon and Whitney; great-grandchildren, Aaden and Jared; brother-in-law, Harry (Mary) Hanson; sisters-in-law, Oscora "Ozzie" Schmidt and Esther Hanson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Agnes was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald; infant son, Ronald Allen; brother, Edward (Geraldine) Almberg; brothers-in-law, Harold Schmidt and Earl Hanson.

The family would like to Drs. Reggie and Onugibo and the staff at Country Terrace for their excellent care of Agnes.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
