PARRETT, Raymond R., age 83

Died: Thursday, January 12th, 2017

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Spirit Lutheran Church in Eau Claire with Pastors Roger Benrud and David Wall officiating

Visitation: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and also one hour prior to service at church on Monday

Interment:  Burial will be at a later date in Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred

 

Raymond R. Parrett, age 83, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Dove Healthcare- South in Eau Claire.

Raymond was born on June 3, 1933 to the late Raymond and Frances (Montgomery) Parrett in Neillsville, Wisconsin. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1951 and proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War era. His life's work was as a Journeyman Electrician retiring in 1994. Raymond was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #14 for 59 years. 

Raymond married Audrey Dahl in Sand Creek, Wisconsin on June 18, 1960. Their entire married life was spent in Eau Claire. He enjoyed woodworking, building and remodeling projects, and took pride in keeping up his home and yard. Raymond also enjoyed delivering Meals-on-Wheels for over 18 years. Raymond will be remembered for his great sense of humor, gentle spirit, kind and loving heart. He will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 56 years, Audrey; daughters, Nancy (Michael) Pillow of Howard, Ohio and Karin Parrett of Phoenix, Arizona; son, David (Julie) Parrett of Eau Claire; grandchildren, Kelsey and Alexander Gamble, Andrew and Olivia Parrett; sisters, Shirley (Glenn) Spindler, Nell Schwantes, Susan (Roland) Farquar, and Mary Parrett; brothers-in-law, Rodney (Carolyn) Dahl and Curtis (Maxine) Dahl; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James Parrett; sister-in-law, Lois (Ronald) Dietsche, brothers-in-law, Dale Schwantes and Arlyn (Eilene) Dahl.

The family would like to thank the kind staff of Dove Health Care-South for their care of Raymond during his stay with them.
