Patricia "Pat" M. Kroll, age 92, of Eau Claire died peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

She was born on January 28, 1923 to the late Victor and Jessie (Wheeler) Cardinal in Chippewa Falls. Pat grew up in Chippewa Falls and graduated from Chi Hi. On February 18, 1943, she married John Kroll, Sr. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Chippewa Falls. Together they raised their family keeping to their strong Catholic faith and ensuring that all of their children attended Regis School. They were founders and very active members of St. Olaf Catholic Church. Pat sang in the choir for over 50 years and volunteered for many committees and activities.

Pat kept the books for the family business, Kroll Carpets, and was a meticulous manager. She took pride in keeping up to date with all aspects of technology and current events in her family and in the world. John and Pat were extensive travelers throughout the U.S. and the world, yet they maintained a close connection with their extended LaSalle Street "family" of neighbors. The Brewers had an avid fan in Pat Kroll who listened to the games on the radio if she couldn't make it there in person. She also enjoyed ice skating and begged her children to take her skating for her 90th birthday. Pat was an avid reader, an exceptional story teller, an extraordinary cook and baker. For most of her adult life she kept a journal, which she continued to her last week. She was an accomplished knitter who, one Christmas, gifted all eight children and their spouses handmade vests.

Pat was an excellent mother and beloved grandmother and great grandma. She cared deeply for her family ensuring discipline and order. It was her great joy to spend time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Pat) Harrington, Vicki (Larry) Steinke, Mary (Mike) Eckert, Jerry (Katie), Tom (Sue), Peter (Paula), Paul (Nancy), and Patrick (Arlene); 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Haley; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, John, Sr.; son, John Dennis; 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Honoring a life with a meaningful service is an important step in the grief process and is a gift to their family and friends —
a gift of memories and a gift of healing
