Brian Charles Jochum, age 33, passed away in a motorcycle accident on the early morning of August 9, 2016 near his home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Brian was born a perfect and beautiful baby boy on July 5, 1983 in Eau Claire to Robert Jochum and Pamela Jones. He was a student at Sam Davey Elementary, Northstar Middle School, McKinley Charter and North High School before ending his illustrious student career and getting a GED at the CVTC. Some people would not include this but it's important for people to know that they have the power to change their path and Brian always blazed his own trail.

He was employed with Dynamic Fitness, declining the offer of a full-time position as he enrolled himself in the HVAC program with the CVTC for 2016 fall semester. Brian was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and camper. He enjoyed long trips to the far reaches of the United States especially to California and Colorado. Brian loved classic old and fast cars and motorcycles. He had recently upgraded his motorcycle to a machine more capable of the highways and byways of the U.S.

Brian raised two beautiful children, Charles Raye and Amarie Pearl, who were the most important people in his life. Brian made sure that his children were always cared for and lived in a safe and loving home. Brian will always be remembered for his dedication to his friends and family and willingness to repair bridges he never burned.

He is survived by his son, Charles Raye; daughter, Amarie Pearl; father, Robert Jochum; mother, Pamela Jones; maternal grandmother, Vi Jones; siblings, Robert John Jochum, Shawn Jochum, Amanda Jochum; nieces, Payton and Ezrayah Jochum; nephew, Evan Jochum; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Brian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alton and Delores Jochum; maternal grandfather, Ray Jones; uncle, Rodney Rader; aunt, Kathy Jochum; and best friend eternally, Mark Ackerman. By now Brian has joined all of the above in a fishing trip in the sky.

From Amarie:

My dad, Brian Charles Jochum wasn't the best dad in the world. But no one's perfect. He was there for me when I needed him. He taught me how to be a happy child. I will never forget him, he will always be with me. I will love him for eternity.  I told him almost every day I loved him. And the day he passed I couldn't believe it. I would love to hear his voice one more time. But life doesn't always go the way you want it to. I don't really know what happened. But I wish I did. He was supposed to be there for my golden birthday, be there for my sweet sixteen, scare away the boys, and walk me down the aisle for my wedding.

The day I found out my dad passed, I saw the ambulance in back of our house. I told my grandma, "Hey, look the ambulance." She looked out at me, "Maybe it's the old lady again?" I looked out the window again and replied to her comment, "No, it looks like the old guy across the street." I forgot about it and went into my room. About twenty minutes later the doorbell rang.  I opened the door and welcomed the three men into our home. He sat us down and told us. I didn't want to believe my daddy was gone forever. I laughed and said it wasn't true, I knew it had to be a dream. And then he handed me the bag of his belongings. I knew this was real. My eyes filled with tears.

My dad was more than a dad, he was my best friend, my hero, my everything. I can't believe I lost him so early. I was devastated. My heart shattered when I heard the horrible news. I can't believe it. I was his only daughter. And he loved me and I loved him, to the moon and back.

From Charlie:

My father was my Savior, there for me when times were ruff, he wiped the tears from my face. I loved him. And he loved me. I still remember the time we went fishing I messed up and he got mad, then the next minute he was by best friend. I will miss him 'til the day I die, and the day I die I will be reunited with him. I lay in his bed and think of him. My dad was my best friend. I love him.

Lots of love, Charlie
